hi all,just wondering if anyone on here had any favourite recipies for a home made rust preventetive, thinking along the lines of oil mixed with maybe white spirit or wax, or something similar that could be sprayed.
i know one of the old time ones used to be old engine oil but i'm not really sold on that due to the nasty stuff that could be in it.
looking to do my landrover chassis with it as its in good condition at the moment and would like to preserve it as long as i can.
i know waxoyl is one of the favourites but i dont like the black as ive seen cases where its been used and made matters worse.
any suggestions guys??

A friend of mine swore by lanolin dissolved in paraffin.

Wouldn't those sort of brews would be for inside? Have been told linseed and engine oil (unused) is a good mix for inside sections. A friend swears by it. I'll stick with Dinitrol products.
For outside, either automotive epoxy primer or Jotun marine primer, plus topcoats. Did this on my Landy. Prefer not to cover in glops because once they split they hide the damage happening behind. Easy to see damage and repair it, with paint.
