Sachs are good quality clutches. LUK are good too.
Wouldn't fit anything else and make sure you get the full kit. Release bearing too.
It's resting your left foot on the pedal will do it - not consciously pressing it, but it's enough. I did it aged 17 - it's wasn't long after that when I started fixing cars . . .That's quite impressive, managing to kill a clutch in 25K miles. How many previous owners?

I wouldn't go cheap, given the amount of work usually involved in a clutch.
My mate did though in a Rover 200. It lasted two days, until he couldn't select any gears with the engine running.
When he took it back out, the friction plate had warped.
I think it only saved him about £40 at the time, but cost him another day rolling around his garage

On the subject of quality car parts, a little over a year ago I replaced the rear disks and pads on my little van, I bought "quality Pagid" branded parts. Changed them out yesterday, TOTALLY sh&gged out, disks were cabbaged. I was pretty shocked to be honest as I had sprung for quality replacements, now sporting a pair of whatever was supplied by GT (general traffic) Auto factors.

Let me clear something up here. The clutch isn't worn out. The problem is that the car occasionally refuses to go into, or come out of gear. This is likely due to corrosion on the gearbox splines (not an uncommon problem on lightly used Fiestas) causing the friction plate to drag. But, as I have to remove the box to fix it, I'd be daft not to put a new clutch in at the same time.That's quite impressive, managing to kill a clutch in 25K miles. How many previous owners?
