safety valve

Hello, can anyone help I need a small safety blow off valve for a blast pot I have made, I have looked on a few sites but they want silly money it would only need the type of thing they use on small compressors, if I can find them cheap enough I would purchase a few, thanks.

Hi,

Have a look on a model engineering site, like Polly model engineering or Blackgates engineering. They usually sell boiler safety valves for about a tenner, if thats any good for what you want. Probably wont be bsp. but a me. thread.

Are you putting it on the pot itself? Personally I'd put it on the output of the regulator away from the grit as I reckon they could easliy get bunged up by dust.

IMI used to sell them, I can't remember how much they cost but can't imagine it is more than a couple of quid. I looked at the IMI catalogue, couldn't find anything, try flotech.
I found a PDFfor the ones I have, but can't get a price.

Hello, pressure would need to be 100 psi minimum size is not critical maybe around 3/8 bsp, thanks.

Only had time for a quick look I have 7bar 1/2"bsp. 10bar 1/2"bsp unmarked 3/8bspfeels around 7bar spring pressure and 10bar 1/4bsp.

Gary, 7 bar 1/2 inch would do is there just the one, also I want to pick your brains I have the chance to get my hands on a large 3 phase compressor that I want to convert to run from a pto shaft from a tractor, this will run all the time how can I dump the air when up to pressure? thanks.
