I'm not sure if it's a repost but i've not seen it on here and i have been searching the site quite abit as i'm intending on building something similar for cleaning up various car parts

Use toughened glass (like coffee table glass) for the window, you could easily break window glass with a loose bolt flying off or if you catch it whilst turning the workpiece over &c.

I made one out of a large plastic storage box. A bit of draught excluder around the lid, a bit of glass in there too, and it works pretty well (until the glass got broken when we moved). It's complete with glove holes and all, like the above link, and a filtered vent. In total, it cost me about £5 to make.
