sandblasting media collecting at sides of tank

got a 20 gallon sandblaster, the media is driving me mad when you get to around half way down you have to rock the blaster to get the media moving again, I'm really tempted to cut the bottom of the tank off and make more of a pyramid shape to allow the media to fall better? would this work?

what are u using in pot. is it damp and do u leave it in the pot when not in use and it settles .If i haven't used mine in a while I tip it upside down and loosen the grit

I wouldn't bother, even with dry media you get a funnel shape as it empties. I just keep mine within kicking distance.

I used to belt the grit valve now and then with the blast hose nozzle or like u say give it a kick

As the others have said, it just one of them things that happens.

It seems to be worse if you use finer grade sand or glass. The more coarse grade seems to flow better.

I have had sand blast pots with different shaped bottoms and they all seem to suffer from it.

I bought a pneumatic vibrator for mine, going to connect it up in the next few days. See if it works or not

I've made 5 pots out of propane bottles and never have bother unless u use damp or re used grit and sand and its not consistent

The first blast pot i used, was a propane bottle upside down. It worked great,never blocked up and i didnt have to shake it all the time.

possibly because its wider than a propane tank
