Sawzall type saw recommendations?

I need to cut a load of old oak joists flush (ish) with a wall, and it seems one of these type of saws is the tool for the job.

Ive never used them before - what do i want?

(and, no, i dont have a milwakee battery setup - else id just buy one of their bare li-on ones)

Mains is the way to go if you have power handy
Decent blades make the tool.
Saxon and shark blades are worth looking at.

Batteries do seem to last pretty well in the battery versions, I had a Dewalt NiMH one and I have now got the L-Ion brushless one. The old one was invaluable when stripping the roof.

With the new one the blades can be fitted vertically and horizontally and both ways round.

It's worth having some spare blades because you can guarantee you'll wear one out two joists before the end.

They are one of those tools that you are not sure you''l use that much which you end up using all the time.

I saw that one. There's a cheaper red one with, from what I can see, the same spec. O cant get the link at the moment but I couldn't really tell the difference (also Makita)
