SB10 blasting pot hose

Hi guys.

Were do you guys buy your blasting hose from

I need some for my sb10 dont cant see it's worth the £10 a meter there asking for it

your not going to get thick walled rubber blast hose for a lot less . it lasts years . buy some cheap thinner wall stuff and it wont last long if its the same pot as above loose the grit jet of the end and use a strait through carbide one

I use second hand hydraulic hose.
Works a treat if you wash it out first.
Only problem is the fittings are hard to push on because the hose doesn't expand.

Big plus is it costs nothing.

Mine tends to crack after a while, more so on the outside

Never did understand why.

I use metal shoot but I cant see that affecting it none

mine is steam hose quite thick and has nylon braid inside

I've often thought about using steel shot in my pressure pot and cabinet to reduce the amount of dust.
Does it work well?

I was worried about the weight of the shot compared to jblast

steel shot or chilled irons ok but it gets damp sticks to the inside of the pot and goes rusty then builds up . if its in a cabinet and you can recover it use aluminium oxide

I've never ever had it rust

Either your workshop is damp or your air needs a water trap or a better one

I love using the stuff

Drastically reduced dust and recycles very very well

It does not brake down very fast

As you can see from the last photo. A very dry rust free cabinet . I've used it like this for over 10 years with out ever having a problem

I've never had chilled iron rust in my cabinet either. Mine is Vixen Jetair that doesn't get used very often and there is never any rust in there and my cabinet isn't in the best environment.

I bought some filters from a guy who used to have a contract cleaning cylinder heads for a specific job. They ran a stainless steel grit and he said it was amazing, he said it was so heavy it always stayed in the cabinet and he had never used the full bag he bought even though they were running for 8hrs a day. I think it was called Gritall. Not cheap but he said it was worth every penny.

im not on about cabinets I said shot blasting pots not small ones either. open the inspection cover and it was in big rusty lumps round the pot wall a water separator wont separate a 150 to 300 cfm pot it just blows it through till it gets hot
