River has been sat on the dresser in the hall while I decided what to do with him.
When we rescued them back, back in 2016, the yard they were on had 40 odd acres, and they were left out in the summer, Him and ebony absolutely loved it, and I loved going down the fields giving them a night check.
Ebony went last year about this time, and had a chat with the daughter what to do with them.
So theyve gone into the old brook behind the far end of the fields, River showed me it was the right place as his tail hair was still on his old scratching tree.
It was a special last goodbye to them, and Ive writted them a powem
We laid you both to rest today upon a sunny eve.
On an ancient babbling brook behind your favourite tree.
(It was the place for you to go, your tail hair showed to me)
You’ll meander on together through the farmlands to the sea.
In time you’ll be the rain the clouds the wind and sunlight on the sea
Ive loved the times Ive cared for you and know you both loved me,
But its time to say goodbye now, fare well my loves be free
