Scissor lifts. (4 off)

Hi All.

I often work on cars, my own, and customers. Nothing big or heavy.

In order to save my poor old back and my dicky knees I'm making a set of four adjustable ramps/lifts, and this week was testing time.
I had my own (scratch built) Seven on them over the weekend so that's them tested to 650kg so now I have the confidence to
try a customers pride & joy on them. It's a 1923 three wheeler worth (he says) £30k so I'm just a little nervous to say the least,
but all was well when I looked in the workshop at 6am this morning. (Phew. Mops brow)

When I've worked out the inevitable mods I'll treat them to a coat of paint; well maybe.

The top pic shows them at 270mm high, but they should go to 450 (ish)

looks good

but i would want some bars to stop car rolling off front/back/sides,
might have been better with steel plate inside the alloy to hold the ends of the Scissors together then allot over the top from a wear point of view

I've got a confession.

Before I took that top pic there were two bits of angle G clamped to the front and back edge.
Soon after the pic they went back on.

Must think of a more permanent solution.

put a small flap / ramp on one side like the big car lifts so as it lifts it becomes a stop and fix a permanent one on the other side

Good ideas.

These lifts will also be used under the rear of my Seven.

This is a space frame chassis with a flat floor, if fact the whole of the bottom of the car is a flat area. (see old pic below)

When I polish the ally body I will position two of the stands either side of the diff and remove the rear wheels and wheel arches.
For this reason I want any wheel stops to be removable, so perhaps riv-nuts into the top face and a folded strip across front and
back secured with wing bolts.

Fold 45 up, 90 down, 45 up. Sort of _/\_ shape.

piece of 10mm bar length of end with two 90% bends on ends
two holes in top plate weld two stops /washers 50mm up from bottom of bar so they just lift in and out
better if you a couple of tubes fitter underneath to drop into in steel

What about something like a pair of shallow wheel chocks joined by a piece of angle or flat, just slide in from the side.

good idea , put a couple of pegs on each chock and drill holes in the plate to locate them and stop them slipping
