Theres a few bits that could be useful, just needs sorting.
There the ones you need to feel sorry for. The ones that have to get a man in to change a lightbulb, or have to live with doors that won't open or shut properly because they can't fix them.I have a neighbour who has sweet Fanny Adams in his garage. It's absolutely empty. What do these people do with their time? I've never got enough of it. Time and junk that is.
I have a garage like that as well, that's why it needs sorting....tooView attachment 279263rest of the place needs sorted too
My neighbour (from hell) knocked and said he'd broken his key in the lock. No problem I said, I'll come round with my picks etc and fish it out. Just then the phone rang and the chap I sold my house to 40 years ago, phoned and said I had a letter from ERNIE. I'd never bothered to change the address to my present one. Now Tony could win an Olympic medal in talking, so it was 45 minutes before his phone ran out. By the time I got round to my neighbour they had attempted to do it themselves. Had all the handles and side frame off, including the hook latch mechanism. Bits everywhere and they still couldn't get the Euro lock out as they didn't realise it has to be in a certain position to slide out. A 10 second job was elevated to nearly 30 mins because they hadn't thought to take a picture as they removed bits or lay them out in order. He has a screwdriver and I'm afraid he uses it.There the ones you need to feel sorry for. I'd rather have a garage full of useful junk and the ability to do something with it, than be calling round electricians in the dark trying to find someone to reset the breaker when a blowing bulb trips it!

Haha I guess that is the issue, as soon as I have the space a mill/lathe is next on my list... it’s just hobby/serious DIY but who wouldn’t want a fully functional workshop at home The funny thing is at work it wouldn’t be allowed to be in that state due to H&S, i wonder why there is an urge toTo be fair, I honestly think I've reached the limit. When I want to do something now, first I have to spend time moving stuff. It's no way to be working - just getting my new miller in there was a major cerfuffle, and now I need to use my fritz Werner to machine the knee, and I can't get to it.
I'm seriously eying stuff up to put on eBay, as well as mentally saying scrap/ melt/ keep. Hopefully the keep pile isn't too big. There is a chance I could extend one or both my workshops into the field behind, but it would mean buying the land, planning permission, excavating, building etc. I don't know if I have the time, energy or inclination tbh..
I fought off an urge to buy (or at least bid on) another miller on Saturday, a fritz Werner vertical, slightly smaller than mine, which arguably could be a better candidate for cnc than the Town Woodhouse, just because it would add to my workload - this is just a hobby right?
I was thinking of building another workshop/shed, I’ve managed to fill a 9.6sqm shed with “stuff” but wonder if i build a much bigger 30sqm workshop if I’ll fill that up too...is there a point where you have a big enough space to not fill it up!? Or do you just grow to the size of the space? Hmmm...
