Hi im new to the site so please go easy?

I have sprayed many of my car repairs with tins and got good results but now im going to try and spray using a compressor .I have never used one and i dont know much about them but im hear to learn.I have read the post on compressors which i found very interesting .

I have found a compressor for sale with screwfix for £99 michelin mb24 the spec is

it wont be big enough for spraying a full car but you might just get by doing a single pannel with the right gun

but it is on the small side 7cfm, for spraying a full car you really want 14cfm min

I use 2 smaller comressors in parallel, gives around 16 CFM. It's worth getting a 3hp, 100 litre compressor if you can stretch to it, belt drive is preferable, but the direct drive ones are O.K., just a bit noisey.

I sprayed my trackday car with a 2.5HP 50L tank wolf compressor, if I had perhaps rubbed down between primer and colour, rubbed down the colour and not done my first car spraying in a slightly less rushed fashion (primer and colour on two consecutive evenings before a trackday), then the car would look fantastic. As it is it looks fine for a track car.

If you are patient it will be fine.

i have that same one sprayed a load of cars with it, including a full respray on my last one, it is a bit on the small side but works okay

Well it's far from Michelin !! Just a badged up chinpressor !!! If your after something like that get the Aldi compressor, more or less the same thing at £80.

I used my little Aldi special for spraying my lads bike ,a bumper etc it worked well no complaints ,using the impact wrench or die grinder means its running all the time but get the right spray gun its fine...
