Sealant

Hi there,

Just started restoring a mini van and I am now at the welding stage. have brought some Zinc primer to cover the welds as this is what you guys say is best to use. I know need to buy some sealant to seal the welds. I understand it has to be Pu Sealant so you can paint over it, but I was just wondering what make all you guys use and what you would recommend??

There are other things out there (the FROST catalogue has a few), but most modern cars use a PU.

For that application, I'd choose on price. Machine Mart do a cheap PU, which seems OK. For gluing panels on I'd tend to use Sikkaflex, but not really worth the extra for what you want.

I've used both Sikaflex and U-Pol Tigerseal. I'm happy with both, but Tigerseal's cheaper, so it gets the vote from me.
