Sealey Blaster Issue

I recently purchased a Sealey shot and blaster kit however as I have never used on before I am not sure if it is working as it should.

Basically all set up ect however it works fine as soon as you open it up however the soda stops firing out after about 10 seconds of firing and then just air come out.

You have to shake it again to get the soda to flow once more. I have quite a large area to do so it is a real pain to have to keep stopping after 10 seconds to shake the dam thing to get the soda to flow again.

I originally thought the soda could be damp hence why it blocks up the outlet but have tried a new batch and still the same

Anybody know if this is normal operation or if I am missing something??

Definitely not normal.

Any chance of picture or link to the item so we know exactly what we're dealing with?

At the outset, is the tank full? As they get near empty the media will stop flowing.

I would say it is about half full of soda. Would that be the issue?

That's a standard "Ebay" blast pot with a soda adapter, I've used the basic pot for several years successfully.

What happens when the media runs down it forms a cone inside the pot, so shaking it causes the cone to collapse and media flows until a new(smaller) cone forms. If it's even slightly damp it will stick and not fall down cleanly. Dampness can occur through the media itself being damp or moist compressor air being used. The latter shouldn't be a problem in this freezing weather.

To start up,

1) close all valves
2) open the inlet valve fully
3) open the bypass valve (the one that points downwards under the pressure gauge)
4) open the bottom valve gradually until the flow is correct, usually so the media stream is just visible

The valve at the nozzle should be fully open or closed, don't use it to regulate the flow.

Are you running a water trap on the air inlet? Ive had a similar issue with a Sealey blaster in the past and adding a water trap made all the difference.
