Sealing bath/sink and kitchen wall

I have been decorating this week, not my best skill

The bath has slight movement and silicone sealant does not stick to it. We have been using seal tape for a year or so, but it has gone bad. I have just done the end tiles and not sure what to do this time. Same with the sink.

Thought I should ask before I grout it

A breeze block and a little squirt of expanding foam worked at my last place, then I used some upvc quadrant and sealer around the bath where it meets the tiles, looked a proper job.

Problem is the sealant does not stick, I think the bath is fibreglass, water just gets under it. I did think I could drill and screw a length of aluminium bar to it, with a seal clamped between. Probably best replace the bath but thats a lot of effort.

Clean your surfaces with C-Tec Multisolve as per the back of the can.

Half fill your bath. Fill the gap where the bath meets vertical tiling with clear C-Tec CT1. Wipe it flush with the tiles using cheap baby wipes. Let it set. Do not use white CT1 as it yellows. When the CT1 is set go over with a good quality white silicone like Forever White and tool off using a Cramer Fugi set of tools. Nothing comes close. Aim for no bigger than 5mm beads unless you have to.

C-Tec now do BT1, especially for bathrooms which is anti fungal etc. I recently used it for where the bath meets horizontal tiles like in your picture.

Note that all the aforementioned products are 'kin expensive!

Silicone will stick to fibreglass, it must be squeaky clean, no scum, no limescale, no soap. My bath is fibreglass, silicone stuck with no problem over 10 years ago. My bath sits on battens around three of the sides. Fill bath with water and stand in it to get maximum deformation.

Make sure it's clean and then use dow corning sealant, best around.

i do a different seal prefer to squirt silicone down the side of the bath first before its pushed against the wall

then i prefer to fill the bath after packing underneath then second seal the bath to the wall its a double seal

but you cant do that with yours as the tiles are there

dont do a thin seal not worth it may look nice dosnt seal much after a bit of usage

make sure that bath is clean otherwise it wont stick
