SGS nuair.. Any opinions please

Looking to run air tools, only one at a time, usual ones of nibbles, belt sanders, DA..

Genuinely only diy use, but do want it too power them properly at their optimum flow.

Looks like the same generic 150 ltr compressor sold by many others, will give you a free air delivery of about 8.5 cfm at delivery pressure. The displacment is the volume of air it sucks in through the air filter this figure is quoted to make it look to have more umphf than it really has

its got a lubricated comp pump for longer life wow I wonder what other makes use to lubricate them

Lol looks just like my Sealey which I've used regularly for ten years. It does 10 CFM which is a genuine output as I had it connected to a 10 cfm mask and it handled it. Price looks very good.

Might be worth ringing both and see who can offer the best deal for a sale today?
As mentioned above the pumps and motor will be a generic one used by most people we had a could in work not running much lasted 10 years

Tbh I'd love a better unit but I can't justify the out lay for the use it will get.

If anyone else has any other suggestions then please do pop in, I can wire in for a more powerful unit but ideally i want as quiet a unit as possible for the max of £500 or near as poss.. Thanks again Gents

I am surprised by the SGS and Machine Mart prices. I checked how much my Sealey was going for these days and it was a lot more than that, and I'm pretty sure I bought it at a good price at the time many years ago, and yet was still dearer than the SGS and Machine Mart price.

@addjunkie if your is only giving you 8.5 cfm and mine seems happy powering a 10 cfm mask, could yours maybe be a bit worn?

Ok so on closer inspection my Sealey is similar but not the same as the SGS. So two different compressors with same displacement and HP but give two different outputs.

If you use the gas equations, the input figuers never change much except temprature, but output figuers depend on many things and the magic numbers you put in for cooling etc.

Some use STP, other NTP, conditions on the day also make a difference. Then with the second cylinder this adds more variables.

Then of course the more it wears e piston rings or valve seats get marked, output will decrease
