As I was kindly reminded by MattF in another topic in this section, I have been a bit slack in adding my home workshop projects.
So I will start with the info and add pictures when I can upload them this evening.
Project 1 was my first welding project, and what else could it be but a welding table !
I have a local supplier who is very good in getting whatever steel I need and dropping it to my house for free.
So the spec was an over engineered one but what the heck.
Approx 1200mm wide and 900mm deep and about 800mm high or thereabouts.
Legs were 2" square box section with a 12mm plate top ( a half sheet of 12mm plate was about £180 ish).
A shelf was made underneath about 250mm off the ground with a 3mm top sheet on top of the box section to accommodate the mig, tig and arc welders, as well as a Torq roller cabinet toolbox from B&Q (for keeping all welding bits and bobs close to hand).
Both the shelf and top plate are supported by the box section in a sort of figure 8 configuration :

-----------------------------
The top plate is bolted though the box section as I didnt want to attempt to weld it, and it means I can flip it over if I want to.
The entire table is sat on 4 x 250kg rated lockable swivel castors so I can move it around if required.
Pics to follow...
