Show us your Tipco tools

I found a Tipco 23mm socket in a boot sale, as i needed one, i thought this thing is very heavy and well made
i have now started my Tipco collection which comprises on just the one socket at this stage, they were used by Concord and Rolls Royce so good enough for me

They seem to be a rare find in most places especially in New Zealand

A Trader who goes to Ruffed Autojumble bought all the Tipco Boxes he still has a few left. Very rare you see a complete Tipco set here

I have or had a Tipco combination spanner, 1/2”AF, the ring end 8 point to fit the square clamp bolts on tool posts on old capstans. Not seen it in a very long time though. I’ve never done any machining, but I was told that was its use.

Cheap spanner from the surplus shop. I used to have loads of them, they were my AF spanners at one time.

I got some old Tipco tools - inherited ones from my old fellars workshop when he was trading.

Mostly big old whitworth/AF sockets - use them in my 30 ton press...


Was Tipco a UK brand...?

Dad was into Stahlwille tools in a big way - I still using some of his 3/8 1/2 3/4 1" drive stuff to earn my money with now.

I have a few bits and pieces I’ve collected that I’d need to dig out, but here’s my 1/2 drive breaker which I actually use. It’s a really handy length, perfect for undoing calliper bolts etc.

i see thats got an armed forces stamp, i didnt know they made tools for them, very cool

The 3/8" breaker bar and top 2 extensions were NOS off eBay, the rest were inherited from my Grandad, I have most of the WW spanner set stored away as I don't need duplicates in my main toolbox.

Tipco 3/4” drive ratchet, 15” extension and a few Tipco sockets. Also have some Britool and King Dick 3/4” sockets. Not that I will ever use them now.
