sif rods v aldi rods

i find the sif rods easy to strike but can be a bit flat. where as the cheap ones harder to strike but have a more rounded shape. say using 2.5 rods on a flat 3mm plate how high should the weld be. sorry no pics need a sim card thingy.

The likelyhood is that both are chinese so they could be the same rods. Neither make their own so there is also a good chance that they may change supplier.
