silverline air angle grinder.

Ok, so I know some of their tools can be a bit carp, but surely air tools should be ok, I need to know if an air angle grinder is much quieter when free running compared to a 240v version Next door have been complaining about the noise, cant blame them really its pretty loud.
I have a 2hp compressor with 7cfm and 5 cfm fad so the only cheap grinder I have seen for low consumption is the silverline 4" that uses 4cfm, so it is within my compressors ability and its in the CHEAP price bracket.
I know many on here will say get this one or that one its only £100+ but it really is a cost thing at the moment.
The main thing though is noise, and are they much quieter or not, if not then I might as well stick with my clarke cheap one.
All input would be very welcome before I decide to buy or not to buy...

Id say an air die grinder was slightly quieter free running, but they get louder when cutting, same as most tools. I doubt theres much in it when under load....
Air ones have a very distinctive high speed 'whizz'

What times of the day /night are you working till ??
As resonable times to make noise thats not classed as antisocial i stick to are 9 AM = 9PM as they carnt moan at this ,

Your compressor will make more noise than an electric grinder plus the disk will still make the same amount of noise grinding or cutting. Rotary air tools always use a lot of air especially cheap ones and the cfm usage is usually way our in their estimates as well.

thanks for the replies guys, my trouble is i live in an association house, so when next door complained they come out and visit and get a bit funny. I have sorted things with next door but i just thought if there is anything i can do to keep people happy then its worth it. i intend to be doing a fair bit more work in the near future. I was told by the association to try and finish by 6.30 - 7, and i dont tend to start til around 10, so this is a fair amoount of tim.
now my welding is getting tidier there is less and less need to grind it off so much so that helps.
thanks for your input, i think i will just stick to the 240v job for now.

As has already been stated:
- air tools produce a distinct high frequency whine
- the compressor will just add to the noise
- whatever the specs claim, air grinders use a lot of air.
I would suggest a variable speed electric angle grinder. These are typically adjustable from 3,000 to 11,000 rpm, and with light pressure will still work well enough and quietly at the lower speeds.
