Simple basic turning

Sometimes its the simple things that gives the most satisfaction of owning a Lathe like deciding you want new bar ends without getting your wallet out

Yup. Enjoyed making new chuck keys and handles of late. Easy to do and nice to use.

Wouldnt want to be without a lathe now.

I made some aluminium handles for my cast iron pans a while back. Couldn’t live without my lathe, even though it needs some fine tuning

Other than replacement bits for the lathe all I have made has been some replacement brass ferules for my cable rod set, still early days though.

A lathe is one of those machines where you find no end of things you can make yourself, when you have one. Also one of the few machines which you find yourself stuck, if you're without one, once you're used to having one. Whereas other machines can just make tasks easier, a lathe actually makes some tasks possible.

True, but once you have made every widget and tool possible you will have space to take on repairs for others to avoid doing your own projects
