Single phase Spot welder

helo chaps,
i hope you can help me.
i'm looking for a single phase spot welder but not a hand held Sealey/Clark machine. I have bad artritis in my right hand and dont have the strength to hold or operate this type of machine so was looking for a 'station' that has a lighter gun.
i know Techa do this sort of machine but everything i find second hand is 3 phase (which i dont have). I didn't really want to buy new as i wont be doing that much work with it but will if i have to.
any help or information would be great

Just a thought, I have a spot welder of the sort you find too heavy,and they are, but it came with an attachment that you fitted it to the welder and it was then able to be held in say an engine hoist, to take all the weight allowing you to position and operate in comfort. These particular welders need a 16 amp feed. The one I got from a chap on the ebay used a nail as a fuse as it tripped the 13 amp fuse no bother. He said it worked alright whilst he was doing his TR6 sills. He was a kiwi mind!!
If you are interested to have a look at it PM me and I will photo the combination for you. I actually picked up another newer one at a auction,without the sling, and so if you think the slinged one will do perhaps we could come to some arrangement.

I don't have an engine hoist and space is quite tight but thank you the idea and the offer. I'm basically stuuffed if its not on wheels or heavy.

I thought i would take and send you the photo's of the lifter, it might be an aid to another member. It slings from a Ingersoll-Rand balancerwhich you can use to set it at its correct height if needed.

I am lucky enough to own a tecna spotwelding station, single phase.

I was lucky enough to find a nearly new one selling on eBay, many years ago.

As I said, it was a long time ago, but I think recalling when speaking to tecna, although they only ever made a hand full if single phase ones, as they were very suprised I had one, but think they said you can rewire the three phase type.

Don't hold me to it but worth a call,

Just a word of worning, the arms cost a bomb.

Having said that, out of all my welders, the spotwelder is the only one I would never part with.

A spotwelder with a balancer only needs a stand on wheels I'd guess to solve this problem. Maybe worth a try.
