Hi all,
Picked up my first compressor the other day - It's a SIP workshop . However the motor was not working so I removed the unit form the tank -
It's a single phase motor with the usual start capacitor but when I removed the electrical connection blanking plate I think i could see what the problem was -
There appear to be a few burnt wires - So my questions are, what are the 3 wires going off into the motor ? Would they be neutral and 2 lives ? Also there appears to be a disconnected black wire as well which you can see. The lead coming from the connector block goes to the start capacitor. The main lead that comes from the on/off/cutoff switch is not shown as I left it on the tank.
I also thought I would try to access the motor connections from the drive end so tried to get the piston assembly off but it seems to be stuck. Would the crank be on a spline on the motor and thus just pull off or do I have to take one of the cylinder heads off to access the shaft ?
All thoughts and comments would be gratefully received as I would really like to try and get this motor working and not have to invest in a new one.
Cheers
