SIP compressor review?

Builders finally finished my patio! now I can order my compressor. I was considering a Sealey £850 for 150L Fad10.4, until they took the offer away. Now its up to about £1100

I am now considering a SIP

Does anybody have any experience with this particular compressor, or SIP in general?

This one uses a 3hp motor 13cfm and probably about 9Fad (not actually stated)

The one Im looking at has 4hp motor 18cfm and 14Fad.

I'd talk to Gary at Shiremoor, my s/h 3hp cost less than half that from him. He also does his own range. Top chap and great service.

Have a look at this, they are good quality and at the right price this would be a bargain !!
It could even be set up to run one or both units depending on demand.

there a nice unit if the price is right. i got one for 60 quid with one burnt out motor /100 quid to fix it a nice 28cfm setup for £160

OMG, that FIAC is sooo sexy! Im keeping an eye on this one.

Aint it though !! Each one of those pumps is twin cylinder, so you could say it's a 4 cylinder compressor !!

Hats off to 'Toolstoday' for a FREE speedy 24hour delivery of my new SIP compressor, however I did arrange for them to deliver it on Friday when I knew I will be at home. I have now got to go 4 doors to my neighbours house and unpack it there. Im not going to attempt to drag 99kg up the road lol.
Thank the lord it has wheels!

Coffee and a fag first, clear a space in my shed, then go do this thang. I still cant wait to open it

At least it'll be dark and will be difficult for prying eyes to recognise my new expensive toy.

sounds silly but check the pump has lube in before you start it up...have a good night with your new toy

Not tonight unfortunately

Opened it up in the dark with a headtorch on. Had fun shifting and balancing it whilst trying to bolt on the wheels before removing it from the pallet.

It wheels nicely, but upon getting it into some real light, I spotted a dented fan housing with flaking paint. No signs of damage to the packaging, so I cant suspect the courier. The dented housing is actually making contact with the fan, so will prevent it from spinning.

I dont suspect 'Toolstoday' as I believe the compressor was delivered directly from SIP. Probably just a warehouse muppet at the SIP warehouse.
Anyhow, I will phone TT tomorrow and see if we can get it rectified. Im sure it will be sorted without hastle.

Just got a call direct from SIP, They have none of the parts in stock so have arranged to pick the whole machine up on Tuesday
They havnt any more machines in stock either, so are unsure when I will get a new one to replace it. Im in no real rush for it luckily, I just wanted to grab it before I lost out on the deal.

Little bit of hastle, but these things do happen sometimes. There have been no quibbles, so Im still quite content.

Well they picked up the damaged compressor today. Had to take it out to the pavement, place it back onto the pallete, take wheels off and repackage it as best as I can. I had offered SIP the option for me to keep the compressor if they compensate me with some kind of discount (£100 was the figure I had in mind). They didnt seem interested and said that the returns procedure had already been put into motion. Doesnt make much sense as it'll cost them that much to pick it up and send me a new one + paperwork + hastle for us both
