sip compressors

Sip seem to be selling some 3hp compressors that kick out a good amount air (10 + cfm) for very little money when you compare the kind of air delivery with other makes.
Are they as bad as the price would make you believe ? Anyone with some real world experience with the brand ?

I have a 25L SIP compressor that I have neglected for about 12 years, I mainly use it on my plasma cutter, I thought it had croaked a while back, cough cough splutter and the thermal cutout was setting itself off.
new capacitor fitted, following advice from here and all fine.
No complaints.

I've had a SIP V-twin direct drive for about 18 years and it works fine, just had oil changes when I think about it every few years.

We have the same one that has lived, neglected, under the bench for 5 years and used regularly.
You may need to change the regulator for a proper one. They strangle the air output something terrible.
Other than that, no problems.

I have 2 x SIP 50 ltr 3hp connected together.For work in side my garage I use one,If I need to work out on my drive with a 35 foot lengh of air hose attached I switch on the second one. Sometimes that struggles with the air ratchet undoing my wheel nuts.Any way they have worked fine for years until about Christmas time and the one which i use most developed a strange noise.So I traced the noise down as coming from behind the fan shroud and when i removed it I found the plastic cooling fan had disintegrated. So I started it up without the plastic cooling fan on the end of the motor.It works well without it and its quite.

I have a 3HP 100L SIP that dates from when Noah got subbies in to spray the ark
To hell with the duty cycle, it just runs and runs, you get all sorts of hissing and bubbling from the top end after a good session on the sandblaster... I guess the issue may be that they don't build them from quite so good materials these days (and I'm being generous with the build quality as it is!).
I've had mine for a dozen years, it was a mate's before that, the DOL starter finally died last year but apart from that it's no bother.
