Long time reader and first time poster so go easy
I've been lent/given a SIP Migmate 105 Turbo with a dodgy torch so sorting it was first thing on the list before more mods On a pretty tight budget and noticed the 'Trafitmet' parts on ebay, could do the whole torch for £30 delivered so went for that - all went on OK but not sure it was the best option so hopefully someone can learn from this!
Below are the before and after pics, aside from the torch I need a 6mm dia crimp connector and couple of the small spade connectors (which took a bit of persuasion to go on with a tight fit). The ridged brass bit at the bottom looks like it's meant to have the earth cable crimped onto it (like in the sip torch) but the crimp connector with a bend was much easier . It already had a stainless liner in reasonable shape which just needed a bit of trimming to go on (liner went all the way through the neck to the tip in old torch) - I think the Clarke torch liners in the weldequip shop should fit. It didn't come with a neck liner but think it's fine without one, doesn't seem to show a liner in the Trafitmet diag http://trafimetgroup.com/files/esploso/e_tops.jpg The old tips and shrouds fit fine.
Probably would have been worth spending the extra £30ish to get a complete torch kit and not have to mess about but I've still got a long shopping list
