Sadly i didnt as many pics as id like , the tank was covered in paint stripper cleaned and gone over with an abrasive cup on the grinder and wire wheels on a drill for the fiddly bits around the legs until the whole thing was spotless , then acid etch primer and a mazda 2k red , the motor and pump were treated to hammerite hammered silver after a good going over with the drill and wire attachments and a dremell for the hard to reach bits , i dont have pics of the pulleys or other bits but they were all treated and painted

Electrics , this for me was the hardest bit as i have no clue about electrics , basically the control box was doing nothing , the motor would only come on by jamming something into one of the contactors to force it closed and never stop running until pulled out, i read up a bit about contactors and relays and the first one to be change was the relay which i found out was melted on the inside and could not move , with this changed one of the 2 contactors would work sometimes , to cut a long story short over a week of many trips to the electrical wholesaler it got a new relay 2 new contactors and a new star delta timer , the result the compressor works like a dream ,only pics i have are testing the new electrics they are not in properly or tidied up but you get the idea

Just have to put the guards on the pulleys and tidy the cables with some conduit , it was really annoying me over the years having such a good compressor look like hell and not working properly but i kept putting to job off , now its good for another 20 years hopefully

I dont find this one too bad but having the base plates secured to the tank properly and good inlet filters make a huge difference having said that ear defenders are still needed , i toyed with the idea of boxing it in an enclosure but i dont want the risk of it getting too hot

Could I suggest you send some pics of the restoration to SIP & if you ask nicely they might send you a new set of stickers FOC!
Noticed the car (Micra?) in the background on chunky tyres. Do you do autograss or trials? I think the 1l Micras are slowly replacing the Minis in that class.

Yaris is replacing them micras now, they fly.
Unless it's changed haven't been for a good while

Been years since I been to watch but I do remember that the Micras had an appetite for big end bearings, hope the Yaris is better!

Mrs micra was super, bought her a class 8 just haven't had time for it.
