Sip Welders wire feed motors

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and I wonder if someone can give me some information on Sip Welder wire feed drive motors.
I have either bought or been given the following machines:-

Sip Migmate 130 Turbo Gas which has run for many years is still performing well and done sterling service.

Sip Migmate 150 Turbo Gas/Gasless which I obtained for a very low price of ebay because the wire feed did not work. I traced this to the transformer on the wire feed PCB and since I replaced it the machine performs well.

Sip 90 Gasless which although almost unused, someone was about to throw out. This works but not well and I may just tinker with it out of interest.

My query is as mentioned about the wire feed motors. They look very similar to the ones that are fitted to various model cars say the 380 series of motors but there are no identifying marks on them but are they?

Hope you can clarify the type and maybe the spec.

no they are not, the rc cars are 7-9volt, they are 24v on sips

One thing someone did report a while back was when they were having trouble with there wire feed motor (not sure if it was SIP) they took the gearbox apart and found that the grease inside had solidified and so they cleaned it out and put fresh in to sort. Rember if machine is old but low mileage the grease will still dry out.
Do you have a good pic of the SIP motor as the machines I work on use small 24v motors and gearboxes.

The chances of a motor dying are slim, but if it did, you would be better off getting a clarke or similar complete wire feed assembly with motor ( about £45 ) They are a superior wire feed and motor anyway.

the motor is weedy but its usually lots more at fault see the extensive problems and solutions in the "sip" section - new metal liner - and in the swan neck, brace the plastic housing and has been said clean the gearbox internals and put in silicone or white lithium grease.

Firstly I will clean and grease the gearbox.
If the unit fails I will probably replace it with a better quality one say a Clarke as mentioned however if you deal with small electric motors then it would be interesting if you can recognise this one.
The 90 amp unit has a motor of 27 mm in diameter and 35 mm long
The 130 and 150 amp units have ones 27 mm diameter and 45 mm long.
These dimensions are measured with a rule and not miked.

They are just a generic 24vdc motor, they don't provide you with handy stuff like rpm etc so getting a replacement would be futile. RS have hundreds of similar motors, but getting right shaft length/diameter/rpm etcis very unlikely.
Is you wire feed working at all or just erratic?
