I would not have bought this welder if I had read what some of you had to say about it.
In any event, I have it now, and cannot afford to go and spend even £100 on a cheap stick welder which I know will run off a 230v 13A supply.
I want to give this thing a go and try to justify the money spent on it.
As it happens, I don't even know what to make of the wiring arrangement at the back.
That is how it came in the post. It seems that whoever had it before me {I am pretty sure that the Irish supplier sent me somebody elses return, ps I am Irish I moved here a year ago, to Middlesex} decided to crimp an o-ring to the input earth-wire, for some unknown reason.
Anyways, should I just snip off the O-Ring, wire the input cable to a 16A rated plug, and get an adapter for that and try to run it off the house mains? I only want to weld small amounts for short periods. Nothing major. 100A would be fine.
I am guessing the wires are too fat for a standard 13a plug.
