Small reservoir

not for keeping tiny in, but for a small compressor.

I've got a small "pot" shaped compressor, basically a motor running down into a little pot, with an air outlet. It's got no reservoir at all & I was wondering about building one of a couple of litres or so.

There's a very old calor gas bottle in the shed, about a foot high. Could that be safely repurposed? It'd need an inlet, an outlet and a saftey valve of some sort?

Any ideas or pointers gratefully received.

According to my local HSE bloke Calor gas bottles can be legally used as air receivers as long as they have a test certificate. There should be a test pressure (TP) stamped on it, typically this will be around 30 bar, so a safe working pressure would be in the region of 10 bar.

You could use a brake tank with the fittings already threaded in it. I got one from a breakers yard for a couple of pounds.
