thinking of making one of these for 10 mm bright bar.
its for the tail end of a Suzuki t500 rack(see picture.
so not a full circle just partial.
the only thing I'm not sure about is the bearings?
may not be able to take the load of bright bar pressure.?
do you guys think this will work ok?
Should've put a pik in this post, it was a bit vague ;o) This is what I'm talking about. It easily copes with 12mm round and I've made hoops out of 6mm flat bar with it. The 'grunt' of a nice big vice helps.
went back in the garage after seeing the video.
I realise where I went wrong.
what I did was drilled 12mm hole through the two front plates and tapped out the back plate WRONG!
the two plates at the back is straight through and the front plate threaded.
I notice also that the round bar was not turning so I was fighting against that as well as the bar that I wanted to curve
so after the mod, walla it worked a treat.
bends the 8mm rod so easy. so very pleased.
all I need to get now is a bigger round rod 40mm so I can put a better handle on. here's a couple of pics front
