snap on 130 mig welder

I've got a snap-on 130a Mig welder, that I got last weekend.

It is in a cosmetically poor state, no handle and abit rusty, and apparently has a wire feed issue?

I've not had a chance to see whats wrong, is this a known problem, or common?

Also how much is it worth, working or in the current condition?

I paid £70 quid for a BOC 130 a couple of months back in a similar condition.

I replace the swan neck spring guide (about 7 quid) and cleaned up the rusty drive roller and the wire feed is fine now. I also had a gas leek in the handle.hist was due to a weak spring ans was fixed with adding an o ring to space out the spring and cleaned up the brass block.

So apart from being a bit tatty and used it works fine and a 130 amp welder for less than a ton happy days.

Chris, most feed issues are due to lack of maintenance or lack of use therefore allowing the wire to rust. Running rusty wire through a mig is a big no-no, it contaminates the liner and swan neck spring with rust dust which eventually clogs it up and makes the feed erratic.
Treat it to a new steel liner, new tip and shroud. The swan neck spring can be removed and cleaned by tapping it and blowing through it although it's a good idea to replace it anyway.

Handles are still available as are most other parts for them.
