snap on 160 fan ..

So im in the process of selling this welder off, as its surplus to requirements now.
had someone come look at it and say the fan sounds like its on its way out,
any idea where you'd get a replacement (just something that would fit ..)

Or could you just wack any old same voltage fan that fits in the space and hook it up? I know nothing on electrics but I cant imagine a fan being much of an issue ..

Blow all the dust off it and put a drop of oil on the bearings and see if if quietens down, usually does the trick on those open motor fans.

Like Wallace said. Works for me every time on the sets I service, and lots cheaper than a new one....

I used a fan from an office fan heater that had been scrapped. Tried it for size and mounting holes lined up so it must be a pretty universal model used in a few things.

Heres a video of the sound, this is how its always been the last 2 years I've had it so I'm not actualy sure if its normal or not.

The fan moves a little back and forward and the bracket thats holds the fan has a little play in it too.

the fan on my sealy mighty mig 185 sounded exactley the same as that from new and is still going strong 12 yeras later.

get the motor and fan out of an old fan oven .there a bog standard motor, as said oil the bearings and it should be fine as long as it still runs

I thought mine had kicked the bucket, cleaned it up, drop of 3in1 and it has been fine for ages.
