Hi, I was hoping for a little enlightenment regading my welder. It's an old (20ish years) Snap On Minimig 180C ( i believe its an acros Lincoln from reading on this forum).
Problem:
When i turn it on i get nothing, the transformer seems fine, i have tested its output against the wiring diagram inside, switching coil voltage should be 42v, i read 50v (not sure if this is also an issue) the main feed to the PCB should be 17v, i read 20v. Getting 15v at the fuse on the PCB.
I have also maually feed the switching relays on the board and they work fine, there is no real visable components that look blown, but i do have 2 capacitor housing cracked (small 0.1 micro farahd, paper impregnated ones - told you it was old).
If i manually overide the solonoid i hear the main coils hum, but nohing from the rest of the welder.
I have contiuity through all the switches, aswel as voltage. But not being completly at home inside a welder or with how the welder actually kicks in, was looking to the more experienced out there to see if i am missing something glairingly obvious.
Any ideas????
