Snap-On PH12 Compressor Manual

Hi;

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a manual / user guide for a Snap-On PH12 2.5HP 50Ltr Compressor.

I need info on use and servicing etc.

I have googled and emailed Snap-On but no joy.

Lost ill the oil out of it on the way home so it needs a refill now.


Question how do u drain the oil out of a compressor and how much does it take to re fill is it to fill the sight glass. Also is standard compressor oil ok or do you people use something else

Looking at your picture, the drain (allen) bolt is under the sight-glass, fill to half glass level and the pump looks the same as Machine Marts industrial units so standard compressor pump oil.

oh yes I can see the allen bolt now thanks zzr,

I read on here people prefer engine oil over compressor oil

It all really depends on what is available locally to you and how much you wish to pay.....

well i found some compressor oil in the garage it is all drained and filled with new now, i had some left so i set about draining the clarke compressor i have too but the poxy thing dont have a drain plug well not one i could see so i sucked it out!

By putting it in your pickup------ that seems to work well ?

ha ha ha laying it down on its side yep sure does make a mess, well the Clarke only had 300ml in it and the snap on took around 700ml

You can use a non bio straight 30 engine oil.

HA where did that come from?, ha was putting powder inthe washin machine meant non detergent

I think I will stick with the proper compressor oil then I have plenty of 10/40 5/40 10/30 and 5/30 engine oil in the garage

My PH12 that I picked up for £30 has so far served me well, had to repair the head gasket when I bought it but that repair is still OK.
I used compressor oil filled to half way up the sighting glass.

Used it the other day and the shut off tap on the main regulator fell apart in my hands :-(

Need a new tap or more likely a new regulator?

just loose that regulator and fit one on the wall or somewhere convienient

I was planning on building a temporary water trap setup so I hues I could remove the regulator and run a line straight from the compressor using a 1/4 BSP Quick Coupling?
