Snap on pro 160, cable to torch

I purchased a snap on pro 160 a little while ago, it was cheap so i dont mind spending some money getting it going well.

First up i noticed the wire feed was bunching up so after a chat on here i ordered a new liner, well i have only just got round to changing it, but when i stripped it down i have noticed the damage is worse than i expected.

The cable leaving the machine that connects to the gun has internal damage to two wires, broken the air feed, etc...

I have taken some pictures to show the damage:

The gun doesnt have a solenoid internally, so the solenoid is internal.

Ideally i would like to just buy a replacement cable for ease. I have emailed weldequip so hopefully they will sort me one out, but if this is not possible does anyone know if i can convert to euro torch? If yes what sort do i need?

There's only one kind of eurotorch; that's the point, it's a standard item, albeit there are many different makers of eurotorch assemblys and torches to take different maximum currents; big torches for high current and small for low current, they all fit the same socket. If your machine has a built in gas solenoid then fitting a eurotorch socket should be relatively straight forward. There are quite a few threads on converting machines with eurotorch sockets, a search will show up something useful even if there isn't a thread specific to the snapon 160. I would be surprised if converting is more expensive than simply buying a replacement torch assembly, it may even be cheaper.

Thanks for getting back to me, i have just ordered a euro torch conversion kit off ebay, so fingers crossed that will fit. Ill post up some pictures when it turns up.

i converted my snap-on pro 160 to euro torch years ago , after i had replaced the original torch once already which only lasted about a year . i used a secondhand socket from an old wire feeder i found at work . the euro torch is alot cheaper to buy than the other type and you can get a 4 meter torch , best thing i ever did. i bought the pro 160 secondhand from my snap-on dealer about 16 years ago and is still going strong , only badged up as snap-on tho made by cebora also badged up and sold by BOC. steve.
