Hi all, My ProMig 160 has stopped feeding wire.
I went through the whole thing today and i am not certain if its the board or the motor.
What voltage should the motor for wire feed run at?
Also does anywhere sell parts for these still?
Motors are 24 volts DC. Powered by the welding voltage, so typically 18 to 30 volts.
Unplug the motor and test with a 12 volt car / bike battery - if good it will run.
But most times it will be the PCB. Tec Arc repair them, they have an Ebay shop.
If you can work on boards safely, you may find its a small transformer, load resistor or triac that's blown, which can be fixed for very few quid.
