Solar Floodlights

Does anyone here know of a manufacturer/supplier of good quality solar floodlights? We currently have five in our garden which were “mid-range” in terms of price, but have been disappointingly short lived. When they were working they were actually very good, but they’re not waterproof….

I’m going to replace them for winter and don’t mind splashing out a bit more money for decent ones, but I do want them to last more than a few months!

The only ones I have used that are any good are the type that have a separate solar panel, gives you a fighting chance of installing the panel where it will get enough daylight to charge the batteries.Got mine from Costco about five years ago.

I’ve a Costco one like that as well, gives a good light, it’s several years old, probably go wrong now I’ve said that!

Sorry I should have said; the current ones have a separate panel which is useful as you say. They’re all in direct sunlight throughout the day (when it’s not cloudy and pouring with rain!).

all I've tried are rubbish.....
bought an expensive one 40 euros as the cheapo Lidils ones were dying after a year.....
it's lasted 4 days.....going back to powered units now.....

I’ve bought two IP56 rated lights to try, if they’re any good I’ll order some more. They come with a three year warranty and the reviews are positive, so I’m hopeful!

yep wired in ones are the best . solar are crap

I got one with a separate panel off amazon for about a tenner for our drive. Been working fine for two years. Only time it has ever run low is when I needed to trim the trees because on windy nights the waving branches set the sensor off.
