some of my welding from work, these are the floors for Asda's new trucks, end of next week we begin on the chassis whilst these are being painted. Measuring 2.8 meters wide 16-18 meters total length. All steel is 4mm and using 1mm wire @ 260 amps nice and hot!

Really impressive welds there, must make a change from transit back panels haha don't think my 180a sealey would lay down welds like that

Pulse MIG? really? only 30 odd year old separate feed units, have a look on the one of the pictures, its on it side on the floor in the distance...half the buttons are missing!

By pulse mig I just mean very eaten and nice rippling effect, pulse mig is awesome but mega bucks yeh the old machines work the best, I bet they never overheat

Its a 500 amp power supply, so its only around 50% total output, they are massive, but when setup up as you see, they run beautiful welds all day long.

massive difference! I can run and practice neat beads and weld properly rather than tack-tack-tack

Nice tidy work, I worked there for abit on floor pans and the elevating decks of the Asda freight a few years back just for the experience. Not the greatest working environment mind and had a lot to be desired compared to when I worked at Ifor Williams.

Correct on the working environment.... they always wanted more, more and more no matter how hard you worked. They wanted 12 hours per day work out of me, they got it... but they always squeeze you for more... i mean work right up to the last minute to end of shift... It took 15 minutes to shut down, tidy u and another 10 minutes to change and clean up...

Equipment was poor condition also..

They wanted so many pieces per day etc without ever timing how long it took to make each piece etc... Yeah equipment was naffed but got th ejob done, total lack of grinders though I actually got issued one the day i jibbed it haha

not diverting from the thread but when read "some nice runs from my job". mine were a different types of runs, and i ran from my job today to the toilet
