The "game changer" for me was going against the advice here, and using high build! : )
Its still not perfect, but i feel like im getting somewhere now.
I've not compounded this or anything, as, ultimately, that paint job wont be final (i had some left in the gun and wanted to see how it would look) but it gives the general idea.
