I have a mate who has a campsite on his farm, they bought in some not so cheap but still crap firepots and they fell to bits after a year.
he asked me to have a look at a durable and cheap option.
This is the prototype.
Took about half an hour from start to finish.
The wheel came from the mysterious pile of junk found on every farm in the country.
I figured three legs for tability, the extra bits around the top are purely cosmetic.
I have tried kicking it over and standing on it and no problems. Next we have to test drive it and might have a look at a simple way of having a grill for barbecuing food.
Plan is campers hire them by the day and pay for fire wood and can buy them as well.
I think maybe a base version and a pimpass version, with balls on the ends of the strips etc.
But a very quick build.
Also no paint stripping, I ran a grinder around both edges to get clean metal, then the first couple of fires will depaint naturally.
