Sperian Optrel p550, anyone got one?

Looking at buying my first mask to go with the portamig I will be purchasing this week.
Anyone got any opinions on the Sperian p5550?

Liking the look of the white with black striping.
I assume as its optrel the lens should be fairly good?

don't know about that mask as I've never used one, I'm a full time welder and I own a speedglas 9000 which I highly recommend to anyone as it's one of the best masks I've ever used, stay away from cheap masks if you are going to be wearing them for a long period of time as many of them are uncomfortable

Its £125 + vat, so not that cheap.

no not cheap, but try the mask on if you can as you may not like it and save yourself some money

No suppliers close to me unfortunately.
I am sure I can add padding on straps if it doesn't feel 100% comfortable.

Yes same here Gareth, i'm stuck under the bucket 8 hours a day like xbox
I'm using a Speedglas also...and never would change for anything else!!!!
(i'm drooling over the latest speedglas 100 graphic edition....really awesome!!! gimme gimme!!!!)

I've used the earlier versions of the Sperian Optrel and found they were heavy, and the lens was too dark for my likings...Don't get me wrong they are well worth the money, a really decent helmet...just not for me!
Tho i have to say the design of it is siick!!
Will you be wearing it for long periods at the time or just DIY use?

due to the lack of funds I decided to go for a siflite and upgrade in the future.
