Spherical Spot Blaster

Years ago I used to have a self contained recycling spot blaster. It comprised a sphere of about 20", with a port 'on the equator' for dust extraction to a vacuum cleaner, another port 'at the north pole' that went to the blast head and had yellow rubber moulded heads to collect used sand, and a venturi arrangement to draw sand out of the sphere and out to the blast nozzle. The sphere sat on a skirt with holes in it to hold spare heads.

Does anyone remember these blasters used in the car trade for rust spots? I'm trying to find a picture of one complete to show someone on another forum how it worked.

If you look between the lower hole and the one to the right there is a logo. I've tried playing with the contrast and enlarging the photo but the resolution isn't good enough to enable me to read what it says.

Do you mean the sphere thingie or any recyling spot blaster?
You can probably still buy them, snap on certainly flogged them
with vacuum recyling.
I was given one, but a self recyling one with a bag mounted on it,
the bag held the media. I still use it, but as a suction blast gun in drum.
Mine is a lectrostatic, looked on google images and found
a PICTURE

The snap on ones were fairly common, I had a look and found a link, it's on this this FORUM. I was given mine for xmas and I thought it looked like some patent ronco toy, you know the things that only works for demonstrators. I don't think I even bothered to try it. Then a mate with a 58 Fairlane asked to borrow it and he bare metaled the back half of his car with it!

Just the sphere one - need to convince someone on another forum that what he has is actually part of a complete sand blasting system, and not just a sand reservoir as he has it set up at the moment.

Awemawson Not sure if you have ever caught the Mark Evans series "A xxx is borne" sub xxx for a trike or etype or MG.(usually on cable) Seen you post and then within a day or two seen Mark doing the MG and there was a breif glimps of the unit you were asking about. Unfortunatly it was not shown being used!
