One of my mate's daughters was stuck at home for the summer with college being closed so she had a rummage on Ebay to see what was selling.
Sea glass, was the answer. Bits of glass dropped in the sea by the Sunderland industry that is no more, polished over sand by decades of wave action and now washing up along the northeast coast.
Half a dozen bits of glass in an envelope: £5.
One thing led to another and she started collecting driftwood that certain arty types apparently use to make table decorations, or dust-gatherers as we blokes know them.
Bit of old pine plank, split and warped in every direction, forming a sort of dish shape. Plonk a tealight candle in it: et voila, £25.
It got the point where mate said she was going to have to wrap it in otherwise she'd need to be VAT registered (at 17) - she passed the ten grand mark some weeks ago.
Just passed her driving test, bought an MX5...
...I have to wonder how you would display a cat head. Shield mounted on a wall? Stuck on a spike?
The one(s) that keep cr*pping on my lawn need mounting on something, preferably barbed, rusty, electrified and with fibreglass strands.
