Spot welding dilema

Hi you Lot,

I have a situation where Id like to spot weld a very small (6mm clip) made of 0.3mm stainless to a 2mm OD stainless tube with 0.25mm walls. These are for a headset frame I manufacture and am looking at going from plastic clips to SS.

Appreciate your thoughts, equipment suggestions etc. Ive been told due to the tube being 2mm and hollow, its a problem.

Have a look at some of the methods used for welding tabs (tags) onto batteries, lot of people doing that with diy methods that could probably be easily setup for what you want.

Batteries for electric bikes are built using small spot welders, you might find one of these is a cheap & easy solution

That's some pretty delicate stuff... sounds like a job for one of them laser welders.
