spray gun prob

Hi guys just been given a mini spray gun gravity feed when its connected to the airline its fine but when i fill it with paint or thinners it drips from the nozzle could this be just needing a new air cap and needle had the thing to bits and cleaned it it was in a right state the needle cap looks like its been took out and in with mole grips it sprays fine just got the leaks its a devilbiss

How strong is the spring ? Parts are readily available for Devilbiss so you should have no trouble picking bits up to repair it.

Apart from all the left in crud it doesnt look to have been used very much yeah the springs are good men't to say think its more the fluid cap were the needle seats than the air cap CheeRS

If the cap has been unscrewed without taking the needle out it can leave a ridge and if it goes back in a different position it drips, new bits should sort it and it's worth doing right.

You have answered your question mate. if the needle is sitting propperly in the seat, you should be able to feel the point of it with a finger when trigger is closed. Strip it all down, remove the packing washer and put the rest in thinners for a couple of days or as said, replace fluid and air caps.
