Hi
I have been looking at buying a spray gun to paint my restoration project with. TBH I have become a little confused about all the different types available and what would be suitable.
What's the practical difference between gravity and suction feed guns? i.e. is one type easier to use than the other? Do they have different uses?
Are HVLP systems like this any good? (It might be cheaper for me to get one if I can't borrow a friend's compressor)
What kind of price should I be looking at? I'm assuming the really cheap stuff (<£30) will be a bit cr*p, I was thinking in the region of £50-£60 might get something reasonable. Any brands I should look out for (I've heard Devilbiss are good, but they seem v. expensive). Maybe something like this? And anything I should definitely avoid?
From what I've read, you should use different nozzle sizes for primer and topcoat, how important is this? Or can you get away with 'one size fits all'? I will be using cellulose paint.
Any help/advice/info appreciated.
Thanks.
Oriel.
