Found this in garage clearance any ideas what its for, I think its for spraying waxoyl or similar

Looks like a multi-purpose one to me. I'd suggest things like waxoil could be sprayed from the pot but you might also be able to stick a cartridge on the fitting on the top.

Should it read old oil injecting gun
Never seen one of those either in the flesh or in a catalog.
It would appear to spray something viscous as there is an air feed off main line to lower connection on flask, but what is the mechanism on the top? is the trigger hidden by flask\ air receiver?
Looks like Mod No. Ser No. at top of handle

I think "old" refers to the gun rather than the age of the liquid, and "air" means "air operated".

Oil injection instead of air, not the old bit

- You mean "an old gun for injecting oil" not "a gun for injecting old oil", perhaps the caption should read "old air-operated oil-injecting gun" then it wouldn't be ambiguous.

That looks like a standard spray gun without the fan shroud fitted and not a big nozzle but if the other bit does spin it sounds like a waxoyl gun for doing inside the sills and chassis rails.

The spray gun type is TF3-i


They were originally produced for the Ministry of Defence During World War 2


Their purpose was to spray inhibitor oil into aero engines and other military equipment


They have also been used for wax injection
