Right then, Im getting a little ahead of myself, but...... i want to be prepared for when I spray my rally car.
So id like peoples thoughts on my thoughts.
So a little background, The car is fully stripped, and i mean fully. I want to spray the whole thing inside and out and as my budget is tight im going to spray it myself.
As mentioned in an earlier thread the front end of the car suffered from surface rust which will removed as best i can. It will also have a full cage (im currenlty welding in) so i will have a miss match of brand new clean metal, cleaned old metal and the original paint work. Due to this it has got me wondering. From the earlier thread it became apparent that most people would advise to use epoxy primer for the rusted areas as it has good rust prevention properties. But is this a good paint to use everywhere?
The other thing im wondering about is top coat. Ive sprayed a few cars in the past and mainly used synthetic and cellulose. As most paints are 2K these days can you still get cellulose, the reason i would prefer to use this is that i dont really want to buy an airfed mask for one job, i also would prefer not to have to spray laquer especially inside as the cage would be quite difficult.
If i can get cellulose can i use this with epoxy primer? without reacation etc. or is there another type of paint i could potentially use?
Again please bear in mind i wnat to keep prices low, so ideally i would like to use the same primer and top all over.
I look forward to responses!
