Stainless Steel Wind Kinetic Sculpture

Finished this a couple of weeks ago. It spins very gracefully in the wind. The slightest breeze will turn it. Very happy with how it went together, am going to make another one in a different style very soon. It's a bit cold out in the shed at the moment though.

Did you make those Stan?
I love metal sculptures, if they move then it just adds a level of interest I think. The fins were put in a forge to soften the metal up, then beaten on a stump. There are three bearings in there. Two inside the main shaft (skateboard bearings) and one at the bottom (motorbike bearing). It was about a week of work (on and off). The polishing took the most amount of time. It's not perfect, I don't own enough tools to make something perfect like some of amazing work on Youtube. See George Rickey, Lyman Whitaker or Anthony Howe. Really want to make more.

No sadly I cant lay claim to fame and say i did them, These are on show in Tenerife, you can find them in Puerto de la Cruz, in the Lago Martianez, a pool complex right on the front on Avenida Colon. Sort of on the front promenade.

sould employ this bloke on wind farm energy I pass hundreds of the Windmills on wind farms none of them turning, whole lot not doing anything
