yea they get u there eventualyJust a thought could a stair lift motor and track be used with a plasma cutter to cut a straight line in metal , maybe its been done
wasnt thinking of keeping the seat on butyea they get u there eventualy
as long as your metal will fit on the stairs and you don't mind burning the carpet...Just a thought could a stair lift motor and track be used with a plasma cutter to cut a straight line in metal , maybe its been done
yes you are right ,just need to understand speed controllers nowYou'd need a speed controller as the stairlift is just on or off isn't it? You'd need to be able to adjust the speed for different thicknesses to get best results, but if you can do that it sounds like a brilliant idea.
A Pwm unit from china would do, it chops up the electric into little pieces and then only feeds the motor a little bit at a time, the rest it eats with vinegar and salt, it's pure majic
how pwm works
this maybe of interest to you

Not much help, but I'm intrigued. How on earth do you go about stealing a stannah stairlift?bought a stanna stair lift complete for 99p two days later the person selling it said it was stolen, very annoying
so now bought a pavalux 240v reversable motor with reduction gearbox which turns at 33rpm , I tried a pwm 240v up to 40amp and that reduces the speed but also the power so that dosen't work for me , now I have been looking at stepped pulleys and can't believe the cost I would need two , I need to reduce to about 9rpm and one or two steps higher , this is to drive a swager with variable speeds, any ideas?

It went like this, she said, "her husband was going to be away from the middle of the week, so he (intsead of me ) took the stanna out and laid it on the front drive beside the car , next morning it wasn't there" then they requested through ebay to cancel the sale giving no reason, I originaly on sunday said, I would take it out on tuesday , then on the tuesday, thats what they said, they sold another one that made £65 at the same time , seems all a bit fishy to meNot much help, but I'm intrigued. I imagine step one is listing it on ebay without thinking about how much ££ you want for it. When only one person bids and wins it for 99p step two kicks in and you claim it was nicked...
240V AC motor or a typo and it's 24V DC? If it's a 240V AC motor many of the PWM AC motor speed controllers the internet spat out specified induction motors, this is mostly witchcraft to me but if you post more details of the motor and PWM controller you used those that understand witchcraft may be able help more...
